JIRO, on the hunt for great squid dishes in Iksan!
Hello, this is JIRO! 😊
As mentioned in our previous post, JIRO visited Iksan last week to conduct an interview with CEO Aelim Kim of BeMike. During the trip, we came across a great local eatery in Iksan. Today, we’d like to introduce that spot to you—so let’s take a look!
JIRO, on the hunt for great squid dishes in Iksan!
(Iksan Jungang Market eatery)
On its first visit to Iksan,
JIRO headed to Jungang Market for lunch.
Actually, we planned to visit
the famous ₩3,500(about $2) tangsuyuk spot,
but it was closed…
Mwahahaha!
While looking for a place to eat,
we spotted a brightly lit snack bar.
The cozy interior
felt strangely welcoming,
The prices were great!
Squid salad and flat dumplings
are this place’s specialties,
so we ordered them with seafood ramen.
The tangy squid salad and flat dumplings
₩8,000 (about $6)
The tangy squid salad and flat dumplings—
we quickly agreed they were the house specials!
The seafood ramen packed with squid
₩5,000 (about $4)
The seafood ramen, packed with squid,
came with a rich and spicy broth!

When we said it was our first visit to Iksan,
they wished us a great trip
and handed us a tangerine.
Kind service + great taste + fair prices,
100% coming back!
If you’re traveling to Iksan, this is definitely something worth trying!
That’s all for today’s post, and we’ll be back soon with more great stories. See you next time!
