Last Saturday (June 13), JIRO visited the 27th Eumseong Pumba Festival.
A few days ago, we shared the story behind the Eumseong Pumba Festival and its origins here on the blog. Today, we'd like to take you on a tour of the festival and share what we experienced on-site!
If you'd like to learn more about the history of the festival, be sure to check out the article below.

The festival stage featured a wide variety of performances, including shows by students from local universities such as Gangdong University and Far East University, appearances by guest singers, performances by local residents, and, of course, traditional Pumba performances.
There was also a booth where visitors could purchase a variety of cute souvenirs. 😀😀
At the Health & Community Experience Center, located in one corner of the festival grounds, visitors could take part in a variety of health-related activities, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as stress assessments.
Next, we'd like to highlight some of the festival amenities that left a particularly positive impression on us.
At the information booth, visitors were provided with hats and hand fans to help them stay cool in the summer heat. Despite being an outdoor festival, drinking water stations were also conveniently available throughout the venue.
What impressed us most was the support provided by the local volunteer center for international visitors.
Interpretation services were available in both English and Filipino, making the festival more accessible and welcoming for guests from around the world.
Waste sorting stations were also well organized and easy to find throughout the festival grounds.
In addition, contact information for festival safety managers was posted around the venue, and staff members were stationed throughout the site to help maintain order. These efforts showed just how much attention had been given to visitor safety.
After enjoying the festival, why not stop by the Saemaul Library at Eumseong Station before heading home?
It's a great place to relax, unwind, and end your trip on a peaceful note while waiting for your train. 📚
The library isn't just for reading at the station—you can also borrow a book and enjoy it on your train ride home!
If you're traveling along the Chungbuk Line, you can return the book at another participating station. If that's not possible, returning it by mail is also an option. 😀😀😀
We thought this was a wonderful service that helps make the journey home just as enjoyable as the festival itself.
What did you think of the 27th Eumseong Pumba Festival? 😊
For JIRO, it was a highly enjoyable and memorable festival experience!
If you have the chance, we highly recommend visiting the 28th Eumseong Pumba Festival when it returns next year. 😀😀
Until then, have a wonderful day, and thanks for reading! ✨
